The Progress Centre

A 22,000 sq. ft. former Victorian cotton mill, the Progress Centre is located in the district of Ardwick in Manchester. Historically a wealthy suburb of the city, Ardwick witnessed rapid industrialisation during the Industrial Revolution.
Following that period of transformation, upon the dwindling of industry, the district became deprived and neglected, falling into disrepair. Under the auspices of the VS Property Group, the Progress Centre has been transformed into a high-specification and flexible work-space provider.
The substantial renovation work spanned all five storeys and included the restoration of numerous invaluable period features. Speaking of the project, a director at the VS Property Group, Ronak Singh enthused, “To us, the Progress Centre today and the renovation project itself represent a major step in affecting the architectural landscape of central Manchester.
The restored building has returned a lost charm to the area and bridged the no-man’s land between Piccadilly and Ardwick.”
